Fairway Mortgage Building New Headquarters at Techway in Fishers
Project partners and city officials break ground on new office building and Nickel Plate Trail Plaza
FISHERS, IN. – Fairway Independent Mortgage, together with officials from the City of Fishers and project partners, broke ground on its new regional headquarters at Techway in Fishers. Located at the entrance of the Fishers Technology Park, Fairway Independent Mortgage will centrally locate three regional branches while servicing the other locations throughout the state. The Techway project also includes a trailhead plaza along the Nickel Plate Trail.
“It is exciting to see the vibrancy and energy of the Nickel Plate District and Nickel Plate Trail impact the gateway to the Fishers Technology Park through this development and substantial art and trail components,” said Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness. “We look forward to welcoming the Fairway Independent Mortgage team to their future home in Fishers as this building comes to fruition.”
Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation plans to use the new 15,000 sq. ft., two-story building as a central hub to better serve teammates, clients, and business partners while continuing to expand into new markets. Three central Indiana branches, including Branch 691 which is currently located in Fishers, will be combined in the new building along the Nickel Plate Trail. In addition, the regional headquarters will support the business services of the other nineteen branch locations in Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky.
“We are excited to have an office in such a vibrant, growing community,” said Austin Larr, SVP Area Manager for Fairway Independent Mortgage. “Fishers has done such a great job with the downtown district, and we look forward to being a part of it.”
Announced earlier this year, Techway is a $8.8 million development project located near Technology Drive and Technology Lane. In addition to the new office building, the project also includes the rehabilitation of an existing building, currently home to the Fishers Health Department Clinic, additional parking, and a trailhead plaza. The plaza will include bicycle racks, benches, a water fountain, parking for trail users, and a public art installation.
The Fishers Arts and Culture Commission partnered with Rebar Development earlier this year on a request for proposals for the trailhead sculpture with a budget of $50,000. Indianapolis-based artists, Luke Crawley and Quincy Owens’ concept, Synapse, was selected to move forward and will be installed once the trailhead construction is complete.
Mayor Fadness and his administration continue to demonstrate their commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and the arts through creative public-private partnerships,” said Shelby Bowen, President of Rebar Development. “We are grateful to the City and the leadership at Fairway Mortgage for trusting us to deliver this important project.”
With construction now underway, the Techway project, including the trailhead plaza is slated for completion in June of 2023. Fairway Independent Mortgage plans to relocate to the building during the summer of 2023.
“Our dedicated team looks forward to being under the same roof and face-to-face after a long hiatus due to COVID precautions. Moving into the new headquarters will be a significant milestone for our team,” said Larr.
